In 2017 the Epicor Building Supply team announced that TLS 1.0 and 1.1 would no longer be supported by Epicor hosting. The attached announcement was sent to all customers in early 2017. On April 2nd of 2017, our team blocked TLS 1.0 and 1.1 at the gateway and firewall but left it in place on hosted terminal servers to allow some clients with older PC’s or thin clients to connect via VPN tunnel.
All modern devices support TLS 1.2 or 1.3. TLS 1.0 was released in 1999 and TLS 1.1 was released in 2006. Both security protocols were deprecated in 2021. Any device manufactured after 2008 supports TLS 1.2. Any device limited to TLS 1.0 or 1.1 is not PCI compliant.
On Sept 21st, support for TLS 1.0 and 1.2 will be removed from all hosted terminal servers. This means that a PC or thin client that was produced prior to 2008 may no longer be able to connect to hosted terminal servers.
